If I order now, when will
I receive it?
Most orders are processed and
shipped in 48-hours, although during high volumes,
orders my take longer to process.
All orders are shipped by ground mail for $35 and
typically take 3-5 days for shipping.
Does the Yuclid Digital
Media Console work with digital cable?
Not directly.
We know of no PC technology that can decode
the digital cable signal, although the console can
be setup to view digital cable through a set top
box similar to how VCRs are used to view digital
cable today. But even with digital cable, many of the
lower “basic” channels are still delivered in
analog and can be used directly with the console.
Do I have to have
Internet-access to use the Yuclid Digital Media
Console?
No.
The consoles work great without Internet
access, still allowing owners to record TV, watch
DVDs, play DVDs and CDs and much more. Although some of the advanced features, such as the television
guide and on-demand-video would be unavailable.
What do I need to use the
Yuclid Digital Media Console?
All you have to have is a
television with at least one A/V input. You can
also attach the console to a receiver.
Isn’t this just a
PC?
Not at all.
Although they share many technical
similarities, we consider this a consumer
electronic. It is built, priced and configured to
function as a consumer electronic device.
The Yuclid Digital Media Console is
designed for entertainment, while writing papers,
balancing the checkbook and other work should
remain on the PC.
If I have Internet
access, can I surf the Internet and send email
with the Yuclid Digital Media Console?
Although it’s possible, it
isn’t designed for this use. The ergonomics and resolution of the
television make it difficult and cumbersome for
these tasks.
We do hope to offer a browser that would be specially
designed for use on the console in the future, but
heavy Internet browsing is still best done at a
desk.
Why
doesn't the Yuclid Digital Media Console 100 ship
with a remote control?
Since
the Yuclid Digital Media Console 100 is our entry
model, we are working to keep costs down as much
as possible. We do offer a remote as an
option or a remote can be purchased from a
store. There are a number of remotes by
various manufactures that are simple to install
and configure.
Why
doesn't the Yuclid Digital Media Console 100/900
ship with <enter your desired component>?
Having
the Yuclid Digital Media Console connected to the
television and sitting in your living room opens
the door to all kinds of new and fun uses.
If would be great if we could had all the latest
new technologies you could ever possibly want, but
we want to provide a solution that is economical
while still giving you the features that are most
desired. Feel free to suggest other
components you would like to see with the
consoles, since we do like to provide the
solutions you desire.
What
are the technical specifications of the consoles,
i.e. memory, processors, etc.?
We want
to offer you solutions not a technology
list. Our value is integrating technology in
a cost effective manner to provide you compelling
solutions, so the "insides" shouldn't be
too relevant. Also, it's difficult to say
exactly since we are always trying to improve our
pricing and feature set. But if want to know
what are current shipping configurations are, see
the product
specifications.
